Details about the OSC Cross coats such as down fill and fabric content
Content: Goose & duck down blend
Loft Power: 650
All OSC Cross lightweight jackets and parkas are filled with a high-level proprietary blend of goose and duck down in accordance with Canadian standards. The down goes through a sanitizing process of being treated with an antibacterial agent to ensure the highest quality insulation is used in your garment.
The fill power is a measure of the loft, or ‘fluff’ of the jacket, which is related to its insulating ability per weight. A higher fill power also enables the jacket to be compressed more easily. Thus a higher fill power means that the jacket will be lighter warmer than one of a lower fill power rating for the same weight.
The measure of the quality of a garment is not restricted to Loft Power, but by other factors such as fabrication and construction of the garment.
Layer under a denim jacket. Ideal for not-that-cold autumn evenings. Extend your biking season. When you don’t always need that parka, go with this down midlayer instead. Our lightweight down-filled jackets are made with our Sporting Shield nylon fabric that is both highly water resistant and windproof.
All fabrics are custom-dyed and made for OSC Cross by skilled textiles manufacturers in Asia. Fabrics have been tested for durability and varying levels of weather and water resistance.
Entrax 800® Outer Shell Fabric: Proprietary durable nylon fabrication fused with a membrane for waterproof, windproof, and breathability properties.
C45 Legacy Fabric: An cotton/nylon blended fabric with wind and water-resistant properties. This fabric is sealed with a waxed finish.
Sporting Shield Fabric: A soft and supple outershell fabric that is both water and wind resistant. This is featured on our lightweight jackets and as contrast fabric on some parkas.
Georgian Twill Fabric: Heavier weatherproof poly-cotton blend fabric applied for durability details.
